Authenticity of Customer Reviews

BOLLSEN publishes reviews only from people who have actually bought and used the product. This page sets out where our reviews come from, how we check them, and what we will not do.

2. How we verify a review

• Order check: the review is matched against the order history in our inventory system to confirm the purchase before it goes live.
• Purchase-linked invitations: the invitation link is unique to a single order, so the review form cannot be reached by someone who has not bought the product.
• Account verification: where a customer reviews while signed in, the review is tied to a purchase made from that account.

3. What we do not do

• We do not publish fake or incentivised reviews.
• We do not pay for positive reviews, and we do not offer discounts in exchange for them.
• We do not hide or suppress negative reviews from verified buyers.
• We do not write reviews on behalf of customers.
• We do not adjust review ratings or rankings.

4. Average ratings

Star ratings on this website are worked out automatically from all verified reviews for that product. They update through the widget and are never adjusted by hand.

5. Reporting a review

If you think a review on this site is fake or breaks the rules, email us at hello@bollsen.co.uk and we will look into it.

6. Legal basis

Publishing consumer reviews without taking reasonable and proportionate steps to check that they are genuine is a banned commercial practice under Schedule 20 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which took effect on 6 April 2025. The checks described above are how we meet that obligation.
