GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION

We recommend that you order the same size of the insoles as the size of your shoes. The sizes were made based on the foot length that corresponds to shoe sizes for adults according to the ISO specification ISO/TS 19407-2015.

Shoe sizes can vary depending on the country in which they were made and whether it is an elegant shoe or a sports shoe. Therefore, we recommend that you decide based on the length of your foot rather than your shoe size - feel free to measure your foot and use our size guide.

The insoles can also be cut, but in this case, you cannot return them anymore. Register at support@bollsen.co.uk

There is always a high demand for our products. Due to elaborate quality controls, however, we manufacture our products very slowly.

To clean the BOLLSEN® insoles, we recommend that you clean them under running water with a nail brush and a little soap. Before wearing them again, make sure that the insoles are completely dry. Please do not wash in the washing machine.

Yes, to a certain degree. For example, if the insoles are slightly too big, you are welcome to do that.

However, you should not cut them too much, because then the effect is impaired.
We also cannot accept returns if the inserts have been cut.

PORON® ShockPad Foam – shock absorbing material.
Nylon Pebax Shank: Pebax® is a medical grade thermoplastic elastomer that is lightweight, flexible and minimises the risk of a product breaking through.

Every foot is different. Each of our insoles has special shapes and strengths in the dynamic midfoot bridge that adapt to the foot. This provides the optimal support for movement, adapted to the foot profile and weight.
The insoles may feel warm during the initial phase of use, which is due to the fact that the blood supply to the muscles in the feet is improved by using the insoles. This feeling will diminish after a short time when the feet have become accustomed to the insoles. The insoles have small air holes at the front of the "foot" to dissipate the heat.

Although the BOLLSEN® insoles are "standardised", they take your individual needs into account. 

You can use the insoles with any brand and type of shoe. For example: in sports shoes, ballerinas, ski boots, boots with and without heels and sandals (preferably quarter strap sandals). Always consider whether you can remove the original insoles from the shoe to make room for the BOLLSEN® insoles and achieve the correct and optimal effect.

You can leave the old insoles in, but we recommend that you do not wear the original insoles together with the BOLLSEN® insoles. Here are a few key points on what to do when you receive your item:

  • Replace your original insoles with the BOLLSEN® insoles. This way you achieve the optimal effect.
  • Start slowly: wear the insoles for max. 4 hours on the first day and increase by one hour each day.

The insoles prescribed by the doctor follow the idea that the position of the bones of the foot can and must be straightened. Therefore, prescription insoles are manufactured accordingly and are often perceived by the athlete as uncomfortable or even unusable for sport.

Heel pain can be a very painful and distressing condition. The underlying diagnosis is usually a heel spur or plantar fasciitis and, along with metatarsalgia (forefoot pain) and hallux valgus, it is one of the most common foot problems of all. The diagnosis can usually be made by the orthopaedic surgeon on the basis of the patient's medical history and a thorough examination. The onset of pain in the morning after getting up or after sitting for a long time are often the first sings. Sharp, initially localised pain under strain is the main symptom; pain at rest or at night, which wakes the sufferer up, is rare.

Behind heel spurs is chronic plantar fasciitis

Most often, this heel pain is due to chronic inflammation/irritation of the plantar fascia. The plantar fascia is a strong tendon plate that spans the sole of the foot and extends from the heel to the toes, it essentially forms the arch of the foot. With every step as well as when standing, the plantar fascia is stretched and is under high mechanical strain. A weak point of this system is usually the attachment to the heel bone, so that chronic inflammation can develop here, leading to heel pain, foot pain or even pain in the area of the Achilles tendon.

Inflammatory irritation of the plantar fascia of this kind can be triggered by overloading. Most of the time, however, no single triggering cause can be identified. In general, there is a chain of unfavourable factors behind it. It often starts with a pelvic torsion due to an ISG block or a block in the lumbar spine area, resulting in a so-called functional leg length discrepancy. Because of this functional leg length difference, one foot is overloaded with each step. This leads to recurrent micro-injuries in the fascia and thus represents a chronic inflammatory stimulus with shortening of the fascia. In most cases, analogous to Achillodynia (painful Achilles’ tendon), there is also a shortened calf musculature with active trigger points, which obviously also leads to increased strain on the plantar fascia.
For these reasons, after undergoing the osteopathic or manual therapy treatment of the pelvic-leg chain and the shock wave treatment, the compensation of an anatomical leg length difference or pelvic obliquity and self-exercises for stretching and fascia treatment of the calf and plantar fascia play a decisive role in eliminating the pain.
